The first is a custom-made Totally Architecture cuff in the colors of your choice.
The second grand prize consists of three - because we are celebrating THREE thousand, of course - gorgeous beads by three of my favorite artists:
From MAKUstudio:
From LisaPetersArt:
From ArtisanClay:
I will also have my trusty random number generator draw 10 names for $15 Sand Fibers Gift Certificates (enough for two patterns - the 3 for 2 program will NOT apply here, however).
The winners can use these gift certificates in my Etsy store or to order a custom item. Or, because I will make the gift certificate transferable and without expiration date, you can give the certificate as a gift.
The "Rules"
To enter the drawing for these prizes, you can do one or more of the following. Please note that to take full advantage of these you must leave a separate comment for each.
- Leave a comment here telling me how you would describe Sand Fibers to someone who hasn't seen my work. (No one said you wouldn't have to work for this! lol)
- Blog about this give away and leave a comment here with a link to your blog post.
- Twitter about this give away and leave a comment here letting me know you did. Be sure to reference @SandFibersRedux in your tweet.
- Link to this post on Facebook and leave a comment here letting me you know you did. Be sure to use the @Sand Fibers tag in your post (it will show up on my fan page wall)
Please leave your email or your etsy/ArtFire store name or something in the comment as well so that I have a way of contacting you in case you win.
If you do all four of these things, you will leave four separate comments and have four separate chances to win. You could, of course, choose to just do one of the four, or two, or three...and that's okay as well. Just enter!
Entries/comments must be made by midnight on Monday, October 24. I will use my trusty random number generator to determine the winners on Tuesday and will announce the winner on this blog later that day.
Good luck! Now be well and get going (but only after you leave your comment)!

How to describe Sand Fibers? An awesome lady who has a great ability to design patterns using delicas, and sometimes other beads and/or fibers. The designer herself has great designs, as I myself, have purchased over half of the personal use patterns, just because they "speak" to me. I have yet to purchase something that Carol Dean herself has beaded, but I am so leaning towards a piece, but I haven't had the right "push" to do it yet. :D
ReplyDeleteNow, after I post this, headed to facebook to share the link. :D

WOW how totally generous. I describe you as a peyote cuff goddess that will undoubtedly blow your mind with her skills and her patterns. Something everyone should see! Not only that but this girl has a heart as big as Texas. That is the best kind of artisan in my book! In fact I am going to post exactly this on FB!
ReplyDeleteI blogged this. You know I love your work and I'm thrilled to see this kind of numbers for your shop. Congratulations!

Sand Fibers? That is the most awesome Etsy shop. She has handmade beaded jewelery as well as patterns and kits for sale, and man, are they magnificent! I have purchased patterns from her and a kit, and both times was very pleased with the amount of communication and speed of delivery. Go check her out! Christmas is coming soon and you could probably finish all your shopping there.
ReplyDeleteI shared this blog post on Facebook.
ReplyDeleteI'd have to say, "She's a genius at structural creativity." Your design and creative ability are just impressive. Definitely someone you need to bookmark!

I think Carol's work is very organic. I've made the Ripples pattern and it has texture and color and looks like ripples of water or sand. I also have the Blooming Bead pattern (I think that's the name) and again I was drawn to it because of the texture and the sense of movement. Susan

Carol's designs are wonderful - a freeflowing creativity overlaying a solid structural base. I especially love her bargello patterns, which make use of multiple drop peyote techniques in a way that I've never seen before.

How I describe Sand Fibers and CD's work to others:
ReplyDeleteCarol Dean Sharpe is a talented bead artist that shares her work with others. She's the master of a peyote pattern and has a great eye for color.
Mary Brown sent me the following message on Facebook:
ReplyDeleteIt wouldn't let me post on your blog so I thought I'd message you instead. You are an inspiration to fellow beadweavers. Love your patterns and bracelets can't wait to make more of them.
Or in other words a classy, sassy, beading star!
How would I describe your work... well, it's creative, beautiful, inspiring bead work that is made by a creative, beautiful and inspiring person. Congrats Carol! I am so happy that you have reached this milestone with Sand Fibers and I know there are many more to come!
ReplyDeleteShared on Facebook too! Congrats again!

I believe Carol has a special taste for delicas, making you believe her works are simple and easy to imagine while they aren't at all... I like all her beautiful cuffs, and the very accurate finishes she does, especially in toggles, always corresponding to the texture of the cuffs. She is a master!

I wouldn't say that finding the words to describe you is a lot of work to do. They come so easily! First of all, you are a beader, who never rests! Your mind is constantly generating beautiful patterns and ideas! And of course you are the master of peyote and a great inspiration to all of us! Thank you! Congratulations on your sales!!!

ReplyDeleteSand Fibers has the most unique cuffs! I have ordered several patterns but of course, mine never look as good as the original. To me, Carol Dean is the Wonder Woman of the peyote stitch. I love looking at her designs and have found that she is a "wonder" to work with! Someday, I hope to meet her.
Check out her shop on Etsy.Com

1: Sand Fibers is a store of beautifully crafted beaded things - mostly bracelets, but with some necklaces and other things as well. The colors are simply stunning and range from subtle, earthy tones to metallic mixes to strikingly bold combinations. The patterns vary as well, but all of them are amazing!
