A Gift to Beadweavers - Eye of Horus

A year ago, I designed an Egyptian-themed pattern using the Eye of Horus and Ankh motifs. A year later, I still haven't gotten around to beading it up. In the meantime, several other pattern designers have had the same or similar ideas.  Not wanting to be accused of copying, but also not inclined to let several hours of work go to waste, I've decided to offer this to you, as my gift, for "personal and commercial use." A thank you for supporting my work!  Please note that there are conditions attached to its use; they are outlined below (in the red print, so you can't miss them ;o).

I would suggest beading the symbols in gold delicas (galvanized or plated) on either a turquoise or cobalt (to mimic lapis) background...but it's entirely up to you, of course ;D

And here's a square stitch/loom version of the pattern. This could also be translated to cross stitch or knitting, of course:

By printing this pattern, you agree to the following conditions:
  • to credit either Sand Fibers or Carol Dean Sharpe with the design (or, if you modify the pattern with the inspiration for the design) in any listing/photograph/posting;
  • to sell any work made and sold from the pattern ONLY if you yourself hand-created the piece (in other words, no mass production);
  • to NOT resell or distribute the pattern - if your friends are interested, just give them the link to this blog post.
The gift of this pattern to you in no way implies purchase or transfer of the copyright, which shall remain with Sand Fibers/Carol Dean Sharpe. Thank you for supporting your pattern designer's rights.

Now be well and get going!

Some Things Take Longer Than Others

And getting the pattern for Blooming Copper published and available to you seems to have been just one of those things. eek!  Sorry it took so long. Next time, nudge me ;)

Now in my Etsy store as both "for personal use only" and "for personal and commercial use" editions:

What finally got me moving on this was working on two new "blooming bead" designs. Both are substantially longer and "fatter" than the original.

The turquoise and bronze version will show up in my shop in the next day or so. Don't worry, I'll let you know when it does ;)

And for those of you who have been asking me for the pattern for the blooming bead...I hope to have something ready for you in the next few weeks. Patience, my friends, patience. When I do release the pattern, it will be as "for personal and commercial use" edition and will include several different takes on the idea, including the two shown above and the bead I'm working on today. hehe  I look forward to seeing where you take these beads in your creations when the time comes.

Be well and get going!
