Cathedral Windows

One of my favorite traditional quilt patterns has always been Cathedral Windows. The closest I ever came to attempting a quilt in that pattern was the "cheater" rag quilt that almost ate my washing machine back in January 2006 (you can read about that particular misadventure here).

When the theme for the first ever Bead Art Originals Challenge was announced - A Novel Idea - I immediately thought, "Now is the time! I can finally make a Cathedral Windows!"  The inspiration novel for this was How to Make an American Quilt, in case you're wondering.

The colors were decided by the upcoming BAO Color Mosaic choices - turquoise, black, and violet.

Since there is no actual Cathedral Windows quilt in the novel, however, I have decided that I will have to create something else for the A Novel Idea challenge ;)
