Everything involved with recovery from the surgery I had two weeks ago today has made it difficult to work with and from patterns (but only for the short term!), and so I have been playing with monochrome bead soups and loving the results:
I think I still have a blue, a green, and a purple and perhaps a white and an orange soup in me :D Heck, it's tempting to do an entire color wheel of these...but I don't know that even I have the beads to pull that off.
I had originally planned to release the pattern for either Martini, Anyone?
or Infinity (not listed yet) -- for which I will include an alphabet so that initials can be placed on either side of a central symbol --
today, but things didn't work out as planned. Instead, I've listed the pattern - both for personal use only and for personal and commercial use - for an older design. I hope you like it ;)
Now be well and get going!

Saturday Window Shopping with Sand Fibers
Yesterday was a dusty, windy day in the Texas/New Mexico/Mexico borderland. Peak gust at the El Paso International Airport tied their previous record: 84 mph! I could not see either the Organ or the Franklin Mountains from my home; I had might as well be living in the flat lands. I missed my mountains and was so happy to have them back this morning ;) Is it any wonder I went looking for mountains on Etsy for us today?
Yes, I surely did miss my mountains yesterday ;) I hope you enjoyed our little excursion; now be well and get going!

BAO Item of the Week (March 26-April 1)
I've had some issues with nausea, pre- and post-operative, these last few weeks. This can make working from a pattern difficult at times. But not beading is just not an option for me, so we get results like
Purchase and pay for this cuff (which uses 17 different shades and finishes of red delica beads!) AND mention "BAO" in the Notes to Seller, and I will send you a 10% refund of the purchase price.
To see details on the other thirteen Bead Art Originals Items of the Week below, check out the team's blog:
I listed another "bead soup" piece earlier in the week:
I hope you have a fantastic Friday. Perhaps you'll have one of these this evening...
(This may be next Tuesday's Pattern. What do you think?)

Tuesday's Pattern #23
I was able to do some "just in case" beading before my surgery last week, so I do have a brand new design and pattern to share with you. I listed the original cuff yesterday, and it sold ;) The current listing is for a made-to-order version (so you can pick different colors, if you want).
The new design is named Pop Flowers and is available as both "for personal use only" and "for personal and commercial use" patterns in my Etsy store today.
I hope this first week of Spring is bright and beautiful for you! Be well and get going, my friends :D

Saturday Window Shopping with Sand Fibers
I received a beautiful "get well" bouquet of tulips yesterday and thought I'd share some of that floral beauty with you today, on our Saturday shopping excursion. What better theme for this first day of Spring?

Tuesday's Pattern #22 (on Monday, I know)
Yay! I was able to finish the cuff
and get the pattern file written up and listed for this week's Tuesday's Pattern.
I may be a little delayed in sending patterns out for the next two days or so, depending on when you place your order and when I get back home from my procedure tomorrow. Please be patient with me.
I hope you've had a good Monday, a good start to a good week. Be well and get going!

Every Sky has a Silver Lining
At least that is what I'm telling myself as I prepare to have my gall bladder removed on Tuesday morning. LOL Once it's gone, I will be able to eat something other than cottage cheese and fruit again :) For years, my doctor and I have taken a conservative approach to my gallstones and the relatively infrequent attacks they caused, but after sending me to the emergency room 9 days ago, enough was enough: It's got to go, and I will not miss it.
I will try to have my Tuesday's Pattern up for you before I leave for the hospital that morning, but if I don't...I apologize in advance because this one is fun and summery, as you can see by this preview
If I do manage to post it here and list it on Etsy, I will not be there to email it to you for a day or two, however, so please be patient with me. Thank you.
And, under the heading of "better late than never," I finally got this piece listed on Etsy and 1000Markets.
Have a great Sunday! Be well and get going...

Saturday Window Shopping with Sand Fibers
I think we all have these in our families: Grandmother's button box/bag/canister. I didn't develop a fondness for buttons until I was in my 40s, but now I seem to collect them myself, some to use in jewelry, some to use in clothing, others to admire.
Let me take you through some of the button box that is Etsy on our Saturday excursion:
