UPDATE: This drawing has been closed, and the winner was announced on September 30th. Thank you for your participation! :D
Last week I received an order for my Purple Medallions on Copper cuff. I had two other pieces to finish, so I couldn't get started on it until the weekend. It's a fun pattern to bead up.
But it's not such a fun pattern to bead up twice in as many days! You see, I made a beautiful cuff, but I made it using 24 kt-gold plated rather than copper beads. Don't ask! I have NOOOOO idea what possessed me, what I was thinking, why I would do this. At least I was able to rectify the error before I sent it out. Imagine the poor customer opening her box and going, "but that's not copper!?"
I considered listing the perfectly wonderful "mistake" cuff, but then I thought: it's been a while since Sand Fibers has had a Give Away!!!
For your chance(s) to win this 6.75" purple and GOLD cuff, you can do one or all of the following:
1. Leave a comment here telling me which of the pieces currently listed in any of my Sand Fibers stores (Etsy, 1000Markets, ArtFire) is your favorite and why.
2. Blog about this give away and leave a comment with a link to your blog post.
3. Twitter about this give away and leave a comment letting me know you did. Be sure to reference @SandFibers in your tweet.
4. Link to this post on Facebook and leave a comment with a link to your link (does that make sense? lol)
Please be sure that I have a way to reach you, so leave your email or your etsy store name or something in the comment as well.
If you do all four of these things, you will leave four separate comments and have four separate chances to win. You could, of course, choose to just do one of the four, or two, or three...and that's okay as well. Just enter! It could be an early Christmas present for you or a friend, mother, or daughter.
Entries/comments must be made by midnight on Tuesday, September 29. I will use my trusty random number generator to determine the winner on Wednesday morning and will announce the winner on this blog later that day.
Happy Wednesday, my friends :) Be well and get going!

My favourite in your store at the moment (I think as you have so many!!), is the Hugs and Kisses in the bronze beads mmmmmm
ReplyDeleteAs you know I have recently bought your pattern for this piece and am EAGERLY awaiting starting one. However, I'd like it to be all one colour like your beautiful bronze piece. My selection of Delicas is limited and my toho triangles collection is even more so. I will have to make a special supplies order or two to really get the beads I want and do the piece justice.
Black was an option, but your bronze piece looks so rich and dynamic.... black just wont do!!
Not sure how this will post identity wise,
Eleanor-
This is a gorgeous bracelet!
ReplyDeleteYour gold "mistake" is beautiful!! I have too many favorites in your shop to be able to pick just one, so here are three: Evening Tidal Pool, The Fire Within, African Mudcloth.
ReplyDeletelove your work!
Ok so here is a link to my FB profile, to show the link I posted....I think....
ReplyDeletehttp://www.facebook.com/DefectiveSnowflake?ref=profile
You know where I am on there anyhow ;)
I love Lemon and Chocolate and Two for One! Of course, all your work is fabulous! I added your link to my MAKUstudio fanpage on facebook which also posts on my regular facebook page and twitter!
ReplyDeletehttp://www.facebook.com/MAKUstudio
Pick ONE favorite? haha! I keep going back to the ruffles pattern cuffs-both the blue and the tan. http://www.1000markets.com:80/users/sandfibers/collections/7737/products/55669
ReplyDeleteOh, and I posted to my facebook profile and twittered ;o)
ReplyDeleteSometimes my best designs come out of slight mistakes *shhhhhhhh! Don't tell anyone!!!* ;)
ReplyDeleteI've always been very fond of your Om cuffs http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=28871544
I graphed myself an Om design years ago, which never actually made into being beaded. Somehow, I like to think it would have come out as nicely as yours, but maybe I'm deluding myself... LOL!
I'll most certainly RT this (via @JewelsLB), and I can post a link to my FB pages :) So make that three for Moi!
I Facebook'd ya http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/profile.php?id=518213278&ref=nf :D
ReplyDeletei thought it was going to take me ages to go through all your beautiful pieces in your shop and chose just one!!! but it was easy, as soon as I saw Autumnal Triangle Peyote Pendant on Copper Cable Choker (2426)http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=31391627 OMG!!! those colours are AMAZING!!!! and you already know i love those triangles! ;-)
ReplyDeletewill also be twittering in a second!!!
Your cuffs inspired me to try making my own peyote patterns, 'cause they're so great! I think my favorite ones are like "Golden Night". The design is really stunning!
ReplyDeletechoosing a favorite would be difficult to do
ReplyDeletewhether you used copper gold plated or shades of blue,
i have to make choices in life all the time
now to include your beadwork i must put it to rhyme
your beading is always done to perfection
from a gorgeous and fabulous art collection
i will defer this decision to your discretion
and you choose and make the right selection
I LOVE the Autumnal Triangle pendent. I love the colors and I am intrigued by how the triangle pieces you make look three dimensional.
ReplyDeleteI have got to try making a triangle.
Deb T. debthuman@zianet.com
Decisions, Decisions, Oh, Did I say that twice, that's because I kept flipping back to two pieces that I liked the most. Of course, a beader cannot choose just one.
ReplyDeleteAll of your designs were fabu. but the ones that kept talking to me were Hello Dolly (loved the raku and your design element) and Two for One (the versatility and the bezel). YUM. Funny, neither one was purple! I guess you've taken me outside of my box. Email: jvasquez56@sbcglobal.net. I posted you on FB and became a fan. Sorry, I don't blog. Here's my fb link http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/profile.php?id=1544736012&ref=name.
Thanks for the giveaway! Julie
Ok I posted on my blog and also at FB.
ReplyDeleteToday there are two chances to win... here and in german lotto.... forgot to play lotto but I take my chance here ;-))
You know I'm your fan!
Love all the ooak pieces-- my current fave is You Are my Sunshine.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite patterns are the Bargello Hearts, Tidal Pool, Cubism, Gila Monster, Mudcloth and Steel Medallions.
Why is harder-- they're the ones that stick with me.
Tweeted
ReplyDeleteNot sure how to link to a FB link-- but you know my Twitter is linked to my FB-- so what is Twittered is FB'd.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely cuff in either colorway! I love your cuffs, but I love the Youthfull Fancy Necklace on 1000markets best.
ReplyDeleteI will tweet your contest if I must (don't want anyone else to know...since I want to win!) and, I'll blog....twist my arm!
Now I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
All your pieces are great, but my favorite is the Barbarella necklace. It's got attitude and humour, is beautifully made with first class materials.
ReplyDeleteThough your Heavy Metal Simplicity is a close second...:)
Heavy Metal Simplicity is just gorgeous! The knitted necklaces are SO unique and beautiful. The Shades of Black and Grey Peyote ring is just phenomenal.
ReplyDeletePS...I couldn't pick a fav! ;)
Lovely work! :)
Your African Mudcloth Inspired Peyote Cuff is my favorite.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=24546809
I just love the colors, the pattern and the design of the bracelet.
Here's my twitter post:
ReplyDeletebeadsforeverSand Fibers: @SandFibers My Bad/Your Good Give Away http://bit.ly/4dXgGb
I shared your blog post on facebook - not sure if that is sharing a link with a link or not, but hope it helps.
ReplyDeleteI love how someone can be rewareded for mistakes!
ReplyDelete|Love your etsy store!
My fave is #2392 the white and turquoise simplicity- a beadwoven bracelet. That style is beautiful.
When I sell more from my etsy store I will buy from yours. Swooziestuff.
my favorite piece is: Pretty in Pink Peyote Triangle Ring - Size 7.5 (2381) because it's PINK and so original!!
ReplyDeleteI tweeted ya
tweetname: laceylovespink
email: laceylovespink @ yahoo dot com
My favourite piece -at the moment- is: Hello Dolly (2399). Because of the combination of controlled beadweaving and firish raku.
ReplyDelete(At Facebook you can find me as 'Mirjam van der Woud'.)

Donna Davis
Gold Rush Log Cabin Braid Peyote Cuff (2177)is my favourite, though it is a very tough choice. Why? I love geometric, clear patterns, I love tone in tone plays, I love gold, and I love simple elegance.
ReplyDeleteWonderful idea!! (but do not misbead too often, at least not with these expensive materials :-))
ReplyDeleteI really like broad cuffs, but I could not decide which of your patterns I like best:
Chartreuse with Green Log Cabin Braid
I looove chartreuse and I looove the graphic log cabin pattern
or
Mirrored Orange Swirl on Steel?
Thrilling color combo!
No, my favourite pattern is actually Houndstooth black/white
because I bought black-and-white chequered glasses last week :-)
How could anyone choose? I just spent a half hour looking at all your gorgeous things. What appealed to me most was Cubism Diamonds Peyote Cuff Bracelet (2375) in your Etsy shop. I used to be a hand weaver (before my back gave out :-) so the textile quality of this piece really appeals to me. I once wove fabric in designs like that.
ReplyDeleteALSO - I love your blog. And... Where did you get that Stop - Copyright theft hurts button. I NEED one of those!
Hi Carol,
ReplyDeleteIt's Cassandra Lockwood again! I love the Wide Aqua and Grey Peyote Cuff (2167) because of the sophistication in design and the face that you are a brilliant colorist! And exudes calmness and content. Thanks and good luck with your giveaway!
What a wonderful mistake! I really love your gold and purple cuff, it would suit me so beautifully!
ReplyDeleteAs I am a romantic, my favorite piece of your collection is definitively the stunning Red Bargello Hearts Peyote Cuff. I am completely in love with the fantastic peyote pattern and with the wonderfully chosen colors (this gold luster is awesome). Congratulations for all your beautiful creations!
Sweetie, you sure do believe in punishing yourself for your mistakes! And it is a very generous punishment from where I sit. My fave of your pieces? "You Are My Sunshine". (1) I used to sing the song to Natalie when she was little, (2) it combines one of my favorite beaders with one of my favorite bead makers and (3) I've seen it in person and held it and fondled it, was loathe to put it back on the display because it is absolutely fabulous!
ReplyDeleteOff to blog, link, tweet! Good luck to all.
I linked to this post on Spacebook!!!! you know where I am :-)
ReplyDeleteMy favorites are......
ReplyDeleteof course
Lemon and Chocolate Confection!!!!
I looks like a warm hug to me!!!
My favorite color, my fav designer and little old me :-)
I do really really love this cuff too--
Dramatic Abstract Peyote Cuff (2096)
tough choices!
I LOVE your mistake!! Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI tweeted about this giveaway & checked out your shop- my favorite in your Etsy shop is the Cubism Diamonds Peyote Cuff Bracelet.
Thanks!
Kendra
of GreenPost.etsy.com
I LOVE the mistake too! This style is actually my favorite of yours. It's so retro vintage & the colors are perfect.
ReplyDeleteMy other favorite style of yours is Sand Fibers With Attitude, Turquoise and Purple Peyote Ribbon Necklace with Fringe and Loops (2150) I adore it!!
Thank you :)
oh Carol, you just had to make me drool didn't ya! ;) was going to pick hugs and kisses..it's 2nd i guess, but i really love Silver Hugs and Kisses on Purple Peyote Cuff Bracelet (2361) oh, this one isn't the other one i hope, cuz it's purple and silver. i love this cuff because you made it so you can wear it two ways, and i just adore how you did that. i love how it curves in as the bead size changes. aw heck, i love you my friend, you inspire me when i'm hurting and want to quit, i just think of you my dear. so maybe, i choose you.. :) is that acceptable? i can't really choose ya know, all your art is perfect and i love it. ♥
ReplyDeletep.s. you're sweet to do this..we should all pass it on. that would be fun. ;)
I had the hardest time choosing my favorites as well!
ReplyDeleteI have to say, I love "The Iconographs- The Mustache" on Etsy. It's such a random thing to bead, but it works so well. Also, I think the juxtaposition of the mustache on a cuff is wonderful. Mustachio'd wrist... :]
My other favorite would be the "Braided Metals Cuff" on Etsy and Artfire. Not only am I a huge sucker for mixed metals, I love how it actually looks like braided... something.
Now to post this on other social networking sites... :D
haha..it's gina again. oops, should have combined them.
ReplyDeletehere you are at my blog site. ;)

My favorite is the bracelet with hearts on it done in red and then the one you did in green. I bought the pattern from you. The bracelet you are giving away is a knock out. I love the gold one best.

I have to choose just ONE item I love from all your shops!? I love everything you do. But if I have to choose one then it would have to be Hot 3x3x3 Anything Goes Peyote Bracelet. I just LOVE those Peyote Triangles!!
ReplyDeleteOh, it was so hard to pick just one. You have so many beautiful pieces. I think I liked your soft triangles cuff best
ReplyDeletehttp://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=14206651
Of course, my real fav is the amulet bag that I got from you a while back. LOL
I retweeted your tweet about this giveaway.

I have been a big fan of your work for a long time, and it was really tough picking just ONE favorite (and I limited myself to just looking at the items in your Etsy shop). BUT, I finally decided that your 3-1 necklace with the raku Sunflower pendant -- http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=26335305 -- is my favorite! Sunflowers are a favorite flower of mine, I adore (and am totally fascinated by) raku pottery, and I LOVE the variety of ways this necklace can be worn! Your work is amazing!!!
