Just posted this in my Etsy store:

Where Inspiration Takes Us

I'm now thinking of making one with a matte black background. hmmmmmm But what I really have to come up with is my "Red" challenge piece for the Etsy BeadWeavers. It's due on the 5th and it doesn't even exist in my mind's eye yet. Let's hear it for procrastination! (Hey! At least I have all my Christmas presents bought ;))

Inspiration

Gotta love inspiration! This treasury expires in an hour or two (embrace the decay, as Etsy's Jared would say), but it provided me with the inspiration for a new piece.

12-18-07 Red Rain Treasury

Specifically, the gorgeous magnets by blockpartypress have me using these colors to work up an old pattern:

just a hint

A little off the beaten Sand Fibers' color path, but that is a very good thing!

I have such a wide selection of delica beads and I haven't even come close to taking advantage of it. This is just one step in the right direction.

The last of the Got-to-have-it-for-Christmas! orders went out yesterday, for those who may be wondering.

If you don't want to wait for me to write about it, you can see the results of my work for Lisa Peters on my flickr page. In the meantime,

12-15-07 How can glass be soft Treasury

I'm super busy getting some custom orders finished up (I won't show pictures until after they have been given as gifts). My resolution for the new year will be to be a better blogger. promise ;)

For your beading pleasure

Step by Step Beads' January/February 2008 issue features the pattern for a certain cuff by a certain beaderweaver you have come to know and love (I hope).

If you've been admiring this piece

copper and turquoise cuff

and thinking, perhaps, "I could do this!" . . . here's your chance :D

PUBLISHED!

Go pick up a copy so that the editors don't think they've made the wrong decision publishing my pattern. Plans are for several more Sand Fibers patterns to appear in this publication over the next year. Rest assured that I will let you know whenever this happens. ;)

Be well and get going!

Actually, don't go yet. My last two treasuries in Treasury West (which is now on its deathbed according to Etsy forums) were my best, I think.

The Big Announcement

:: Pomp and Circumstance playing in the background ::

The lovely Swanee of MistyRidgeBeads created this winning bracelet for the November Etsy BeadWeavers Challenge - Bead Woven Netted Gold Flower Bracelet

Congratulations, Swanee! ;)

Swanee will get to pick the theme for our February challenge. Why not for December? you ask. Well, stay tuned . . . the Etsy BeadWeavers have a special treat planned for the next challenge!

Swanee isn't the only winner this month. Someone has won this in the colors of her choice:

And the winner is (drum roll, please!) -

Shhhh! She doesn't even know yet ;) Liz at hobbledehoy has had a pretty lucky few weeks! She was recently on Etsy's front page as a Featured Seller and now she's won this. Wonder which is the greater honor . . . hmm . . . (yes, Carol Dean has become slightly delusional -- wait for my next post to find out why!) Check out her store! I bought two wonderful skeins of yarn from her last month and will attest to the quality and gorgeous, gorgeous coloring.

This was fun! Let's do it again soon. Thank you to all the wonderful commenters and all the many of you who came and looked (my views sky-rocketed!) but didn't leave your John or Jane Hancocks ;)

Be well and get going!
